A New Kind of Leadership
The world is becoming harder to work out. Leaders face bewildering complexity on every front. Societal, financial, technological, organisational, and legislative pressures are creating a storm of overwhelm, leaving even the most capable leaders fatigued.
Some of our best leaders have learned to manage chaos: imposing boundedness, holding paradoxes, allowing emergence, and engaging AI. But is it enough just to survive the storm? What are we leaving for the leaders coming after us?
We believe leadership can be about more than keeping our heads above water. If we hold together, and learn how to pool our perspectives, we can invent a better future and flourish in uncertainty.
Why Conscius?
Decades of leadership development have shown us that the genius of the lone, responsible leader is no longer adequate. The leaders who thrive in today’s maelstrom have discovered a new level of collaboration: the ability to think together. Those who create a reliable source of knowledge, triangulate insights, and engage with the right level of consciousness are succeeding.
Conscius covers the following topics.
Perception. The deletions, distortions and generalisations that determine our reality, and how we navigate the world using anticipatory perception and controlled hallucination.
Paradox: The place beyond default binary positions where we can hold, integrate and be changed by the opposing truths about complex situations.
Memes: The tropes, totems and packets of information and behaviours that pervade our culture. Vital for identifying and reinforcing cultural strengths.
Consciousness: What we notice, how we process, and how we narrate our experiences. The spectrum of consciousness available to us and the pathways for expanding our experiences.
Shadow Culture: The negative dynamics of teams and organisations. The insight that our hidden dysfunctions can be transformed into drivers for growth.
Organisational change: The processes and choices for developing the performance of our organisations. Distinctions for the scale of the change and the target consciousness for the end of the process.
Dialogue: The conversational tool for engaging a group of 4-9 people in sharing knowledge and creating a shared context for decisions. Designing frameworks for unlocking the collective intelligence in the room.
